Sources, methodology & working-interest assumptions
Method. Source: datos.energia.gob.ar «Producción de petróleo y gas por pozo (Capítulo IV)» + well & concession masters, CC-BY-4.0,
queried server-side on 2026-10-15T15:07:42+00:00. Source units m³/month (gas: thousand m³); rates are calendar-day averages
(a period's rate is its total net volume ÷ its producing days). Oil at 6.2898 bbl/m³, gas at 158.99 m³/boe (5,615 scf/boe).
Granularity: the dataset publishes monthly (cadence R/P1M) with a ~1-month lag, so the shortest period is a single month —
weekly/daily production is not available from this source.
Historical basis. Current working-interest percentages are applied across the full series, including periods before acquisitions. This is a pro forma estimate, not Vista’s reported historical net production. Working-interest changes require a separate review; production refreshes do not update ownership assumptions.
Net-WI basis. The net-production module applies Vista's working interest by block: operated volumes count at 100%
except Águila Mora (90%) and Coirón Amargo Norte (84.62%), and the partner-operated blocks enter at Vista's WI —
La Amarga Chica 50%, Bandurria Sur 25.1%, Bajo del Toro 35% (Form 6-K, 7 May 2026). The government registry may still list
pre-closing ownership for the acquired blocks. Legacy operated blocks are counted at 100% (their historical partner shares,
where any, are not separated here), so pre-2019 net figures are a slight upper bound.
JV blocks. Concession outlines from the Secretaría de Energía exploitation-concessions layer.
Partner-operated blocks (La Amarga Chica, Bandurria Sur, Bajo del Toro incl. Norte) show gross block production from
Capítulo IV and Vista's net at the working interests in Vista's Form 6-K of May 7, 2026 (Equinor acquisition closing);
the official registry may still show pre-closing ownership. JV volumes appear in the current-interest module, map and KPI row; the aggregate and asset charts remain Vista-operated.
Caveats. The aggregate and by-asset charts cover operated production only — they exclude Vista's non-operated JV interests (e.g. La Amarga Chica, operated by YPF).
History covers the operated lineage PELSA (to Jun 2018) → Vista Oil & Gas → Vista Energy; the registered well count drops from
~2,250 to ~470 across 2023–24 with the transfer of conventional assets, while shale growth keeps total output rising.
Latest 1–2 months are provisional and routinely revised. Well cumulatives are summed over the 2018→today window.
